My entire bottom lip is fucked.

I don’t know if it’s a cold sore or if I peeled off all my skin cuz it was dry, cuz I did do that. Just confused cuz whenever I read about them it talks about pain and itching and what I believe are cold sores on my lips are never itchy or painful. Curious! I get them like every time I’m about to get my period which is a herpes simplex 1 characteristic but then why no pain? HMMmmm maybe I should just get off birth control cuz when I was off of it for like a month or two I didn’t get these “cold sores”
